2019 PFU Roadshow – Workshops (1/19 – 6/19)
08:30 – 10:30 AM | SAFETY ALWAYS COMES FIRST
Before the fun songs can be sung and all the great art projects can be created, Safety in the classroom should ALWAYS be your number one priority. In this 2 hour class, we will look at the safety considerations that should be made prior to children entering your classroom, as well as day to day precautions.
10:30 – 12:30 PM | INCLUSION: DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE PRACTICE FOR ALL CHILDREN
This class will provide an overview of Inclusion in the Early Childhood Classroom. Participants will define specifically what are “special needs” and will explore the laws that protect individuals with special needs. Resources for teachers as well as parents will be identified.
1:30 – 3:30 PM | BEYOND DUCT TAPE AND CLEAN WATER: EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
In this 2 hour emergency preparedness class, we will review past Georgia hazards, discuss planning considerations and brainstorm systems and procedures to purposefully planning for emergencies.
